Media will sort of be the theme of the day. The reason
we chose media is not that it’s hot and trendy right now but rather that we see
media currently leading and driving technology forward. The industry have been up to a huge challenge, and still ongoing, in going from traditional print to digital. And the challenge to
take online from being simply a marketing channel, free of use for the customers a couple of years ago, to provide ones full product portfolio and all service offerings online today, experimenting with different alternatives of payment wall strategies.
Netlight loves media and are very much involved in all the main players in Stockholm, Oslo and more and more in Munich. During the Swedish elections recently Netlight was part of all the major initiatives around the election, parties and newsflashes.
When I say media here today I don’t only include
the obvious typical publishing players, but rather the mindset to put the user
and user experience in center and to have business and tech work closely
together for real in order to catch the rapidly flying windows of market
opportunity we see today. We also love to see how traditional industries are adapting to this, as an important part of their business.
The clear lines between traditional industries are fading away.
In my generous definition of media, here
today, I include very interesting areas such as focus on user and user experience,
client development (web, tablet, mobile), VOD, streaming, e-commerce, payment
strategy/payment walls, all new neet frameworks both far to the client side in the rendering business, but also to the far back-end side, fading out the barriers between traditional back-end and front-end, usage of customer
data to customize user experience in real-time, analytics, BI and rule engines, big data to provide real business value, performance, stability and scalability...
To me...this is heaven...
