  • When our (Netlight’s) CEO Erik Ringertz (@ringertz) win the Swedish national nomination of “boss of the year”. Doesn’t it have to mean that all we stand for and fight for is appreciated also by the “outside” world? http://chef.se/erik-ringertz-vd-netlight-ar-arets-chef-2014/
  • When it’s proven again again that working and creating together for real provides so much more value and fun for all.
  • Spring is here (in Sweden) – if only for a day or two
  • When you feel your garden wakes to life after the very long winter sleep
  • When you find three newly laid eggs in your hen house
  • When your hen can walk around freely in the garden and after several tries manages to scare away the neighbour cat by themselves (yet again by working together)
  • When you can start with all the wonderful work and projects you have in front of you in your garden together with your family - to get a rest from work and to get new inspiration.
  • When you finally get to prune your young hedge of privet (liguster) to lay the foundation for a great seasonal growth.

 And when you for a couple of minute don’t think and worry about:


  • The terrifying situation in Ukraine affecting us all.
  • The killing of Sweden’s beloved National Radio foreign correspondent, Nils Horner. The aggravated security situation for all journalists out there in the world trying to always report the truth and by that fighting for democracy, equality and human rights for all.
  • Lack of equality in Sweden, the IT industry and in the rest of the world.
  • World rearmament
  • The advance of nationalistic parties and racism and the escalation of violence within. 
  • All the environmental problems our children will inherit.
  • And of course all people (and animals) suffering in the world - anything missed?

      We all start there, with the famous Monolith Architecture. Why? Because it’s easy, it’s fast, it suits our needs just fine. Remember the first rule when distributing your systems – “Do NOT distribute your systems”, until you need it, then “Do NOT distribute your systems”, unless you really really really need it. So the Monolith is the perfect start for any start-up and can suit your need for a very long time, potentially forever.   So why bother understanding what Microservices is all about?
